Anti-terror operation in Belgium: 8 detentions
Anti-terror operations were organized in many parts of Belgium. In the statement made by the prosecutor's office, it was noted that the operations were carried out due to the possibility of a terrorist attack. As part of the operations that started in the capital Brussels last night, a total of 3 people were detained in Zaventem, Schaerbeek and Molenbeek districts. At the same time, 5 suspects were caught in the operations carried out in the Merksem, Borgerhout, Deurne, Molenbeek and Eupen regions of Antwerp. It is believed that two of the suspects detained in Antwerp were preparing for a terrorist attack. The decision regarding the arrest or release of 8 detainees will be made by the authorized judge.
