Belgian Football Federation CEO, who increased his salary by himself, was fired

Peter Bossaert, CEO of the Belgian Football Association, was fired for increasing his salary without the approval of management.

The federation board met to discuss the accusation against Bossaert. After the meeting, it was announced that Bossaert, who has been on duty since 2018, was dismissed.

In the Belgian press, it was reported that the president of the federation, Paul Van den Bulck, was uncomfortable with the allegations, therefore he agreed with a law firm for financial auditing, and as a result of the audit, it was concluded that Bossaert's contract was in violation of ethical rules and internal regulations.

Belgian football is going through a turbulent period following the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. After Belgium, which was shown among the favorites, was eliminated from the tournament in the group stage, Domenico Tedesco was replaced by coach Roberto Martinez, and some names in the football management were changed.
