Belgium wants to train Ukrainian pilots for F-16s
Belgium said Ukraine is ready to step in to consolidate its air power.
The European country plans to train Ukrainian pilots for the use of F-16 warplanes against Russia.
Offer to Zelensky for F-16 training
According to Belgian media reports, after France and England, Belgium also announced its intention to provide fighter jet training to Ukrainian pilots.
Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo reported this intention to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last month.
It was stated that the Belgian government will consult with other Western countries on the organization of the trainings.
No decision from western countries
Ukraine has been asking Western countries to supply fighter jets for a long time. Although various heavy weapons such as tanks, cannons and armored vehicles have been supplied to Ukraine, Western countries have not yet decided on the procurement of warplanes.
They will not send warplanes to Ukraine
The issue is expected to be on the agenda at the NATO Summit to be held in Lithuania on 11-12 July.
It is stated that Belgium has a small number of F-16 aircraft in its hands, that at this stage only training can be given to Ukraine, and there is no question of supplying warplanes.
