How to help your pet?
Pets suffer from the heat, too. Here are some tips to keep them cool:
Provide shaded areas in your home.
Provide plenty of water for your pet.
Spray your pet lightly with water to cool it down.
Prefer wet food for dogs and cats. New or exotic pets (herbivores and omnivores) are best fed water-rich foods (fruits and vegetables) such as (water) melon or cucumber.
Remember to brush especially long-haired pets and remove the dead hairs.
Never leave your pet alone in a vehicle.
Be alert for symptoms of sunstroke. If you notice the following, consult your veterinarian immediately: very rapid panting, increased body temperature, trembling, vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of consciousness etc.
