EU foreign ministers' Türkiye assessment postponed

The evaluation on Turkey, which is planned to be held at the next week's meeting of the foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) countries, is left for the next meeting to be held in July.

In a part of the EU Foreign Ministers' Meeting to be held in Luxembourg on Monday, an assessment of the "post-election situation in Turkey" was envisaged. However, it was reported that EU officials had discussed the current situation a while ago and it was decided to postpone the evaluation of the ministers.

A senior EU official, who did not wish to be named, stated that they had given Turkey to address it during the EU Foreign Ministers Meeting to be held on 20 July.

Reminding that parliamentary and presidential elections are held in Turkey in May, the EU official said, "We need more time to see what Turkey's policies will be. There is a government that can make some changes. That's why we wanted to give it a little more time to see how the developments would turn out." .
