From 12 to 15 August 2022 at the Grand-Place of Brussels the traditional and spectacular Flower Carpet will be created again this year. The construction of the carpet is set on Friday 12 August.
Every 2 years the Grand-Place of Brussels is covered with a flower carpet of begonias. The carpet of 77 m x 24 m is composed by about 120 volunteers, with nearly 1 million begonias in less than 4 hours.
Design of the 1971 Flower Carpet The Flower Carpet is celebrating its 50th anniversary and 22nd edition this year. The design used for this edition is therefore a reference to the first design from 1971. All the elements of this first design are present in the 2022 carpet, including the Saint Michael archangel and the Belgian lion.

This 25-minute walk, which starts at the Grand-Place, is signposted. It takes visitors through the surrounding streets to discover floral arrangements by Belgian designers.
