HPV vaccine becomes free for 9-21 age group in Austria
HPV vaccine in Austria will be free for the 9-21 age group as of today.
According to the news, Austrian Health Minister Johannes Rauch, in his statement, said, "We save hundreds of people from cancer every year with the HPV vaccine," and described the free vaccine for children as a "milestone".
Studies show that HPV, which has more than 100 types, is the cause of almost all cases of cervical cancer. Vaccination in childhood provides close to face protection.
The vaccine is advised for both males and females.
