Liz Truss is the new prime minister of the UK

Liz Truss became the new leader of the British Conservative Party on Monday and will therefore be appointed as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Unsurprisingly, Liz Truss was appointed as the leader of the British Conservative Party, this Monday, September 5, 2022, during the announcement of the results of the vote of the members, called since the beginning of August to appoint Boris Johnson's successor to this function. By taking up this post, the current British Foreign Minister will become the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

The Conservatives being in the majority in the House of Representatives, the deputies electing the Prime Minister, Liz Truss will thus become the third woman to lead the government of the Crown, after Margareth Thatcher and Theresa May. She won against Rishi Sunak, former Chancellor of the Exchequer (Minister of Finance).

Her appointment attracted so many critics and discussions. It is not possible that whole British people are supporting her. She will be dealing with some major problems and crisis in her initial days.
