Loss of life in Turkey's earthquake disaster passed 20 thousand

After the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş's Pazarcık and Elbistan districts with an interval of about 10 hours and caused destruction in Hatay, Gaziantep, Osmaniye, Malatya, Adıyaman, Adana, Kilis, Diyarbakır, Elazığ and Şanlıurfa. Turkey's eyes are turned into search and rescue efforts.
According to reports, as of 21:42 in the region, a total of 20 thousand 213 citizens lost their lives; 80 thousand 52 people were injured. While thousands of buildings were destroyed, there are still people under the rubble.
According to official data, 17 thousand 480 people lost their lives and 43 thousand 953 people were injured in Kocaeli, Yalova, Sakarya, Istanbul and Düzce in the great Marmara earthquake, the epicenter of which was Gölcük, on August 17, 1999.
According to the official statement, 30,306 search and rescue personnel of AFAD, PAK, JAK, JÖAK, DİSAK, Coast Guard, DAK, Güven, fire brigade, rescue, MEB, NGOs and international teams are working in the region.
The number of search and rescue personnel from other countries was recorded as 6 thousand 810.
