Netflix will charge additional fees for password sharing in the Netherlands and Belgium

Netflix has announced that it will begin charging additional fees for password sharing in a total of 103 countries, including the Netherlands and Belgium.


Netflix has started charging additional fees for password sharing in many countries, including the Netherlands, Belgium, the USA and the UK. Accordingly, Netflix users in the Netherlands and Belgium will be able to share their account information for an additional 3.99 euros per month.





On Tuesday, Netflix sent an email to customers in 103 countries and regions, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Australia, Brazil, France, Mexico and Singapore, about account sharing.


In the e-mail sent to customers in the Netherlands, it was announced that “if the customer is found to be sharing their account outside of their household, they will be given the option to transfer their account to a new paid account or add a member from outside the household for 3.99 euros per month”.


In a statement made by the company, it was stated that it is estimated that a total of 100 million households around the world, including 30 million users in the USA and Canada, use a Netflix account even though they do not pay.


Netflix has previously estimated that a total of 100 million households worldwide, including 30 million users in the US and Canada, use a Netflix account without paying, despite it breaking its official rules.
