The proposal of the Egyptian presidency "unacceptable", according to Zakia Khattabi

The proposal put on the table by the Egyptian presidency of COP27 is "unacceptable" and "greatly goes beyond European red lines", reacted on Saturday the Belgian Federal Minister for Climate, Zakia Khattabi according to a report by Belga.

"It is not a question here of reopening the discussion on our ambition but of agreeing on an ambitious operationalization of the Paris agreement as well as the Glasgow climate Pact (the Glasgow climate pact, concluded at the end of 2021, editor's note) We are not there yet, we will not spare our efforts until the last moment, but there is no question of compromising on the fundamentals of international climate policy", further warns the Belgian minister.
