Turkish national anthem played in Antwerp church to show solidarity with Turkey

With the decision of Antwerp Municipality in Belgium yesterday, a commemoration ceremony was held in front of the historical cathedral in the city center for those who lost their lives in the earthquake in Turkey.

Antwerp Mayor Bart De Wever, Turkey's Antwerp Consul General Batu Keskin and many Turks living in the city attended the ceremony.

During the ceremony, the National Anthem was performed with the church bell in the name of solidarity with Turkey.

The Turkish flag was hoisted in front of Antwerp Castle, the oldest building in the city, and was lowered to half.

Antwerp Municipality also decided to donate 20 thousand Euros to help earthquake victims and to add a firefighter representing the city to the aid team that will go from Belgium to Turkey.
