Uccle wants to ban shared scooters
The Uccle municipality in Brussels Capital-Region is giving formal notice to scooter operators to cease their activities on its territory. They are looking into the appropriate legal tool to legally prohibit all parking.

Shared scooters have been part of the Brussels landscape since 2018 and their success immediately posed significant security challenges. The regulators banned, on July 1, their use by minors under the age of 16 and two users at the same time. The new regulations also prohibit traffic on sidewalks. Finally, operators have lowered the speed of shared scooters in Brussels at the request of regional authorities. Now the Uccle city hall is wishing to ban parking of those popular vehicles in their territory.
