US Secretary of State Blinken in Turkey; examined the areas affected by the earthquake
US Secretary of State Blinken is in Turkey for the first time since taking office.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived at Incirlik Air Base in Adana to visit earthquake zones after the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes that occurred in Turkey. Blinken will make his first official visit to Ankara tomorrow.
On the 14th day of the Kahramanmaraş-centered 7.7 and 7.6 earthquakes that occurred in Turkey, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Turkey.
US Ambassador to Turkey Jeff Flake also took part in the team that welcomed US Secretary of State Blinken in Incirlik.
US Secretary of State Blinken was welcomed by Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu at Incirlik Air Base. Çavuşoğlu and Blinken made investigations on Hatay, which was affected by the earthquake, by helicopter.
Blinken will then meet with the families of the earthquake victims with the US teams at Incirlik Air Base.
US Secretary of State Blinken will travel to Ankara tomorrow for the continuation of the talks.
It was stated that Blinken could meet with President and AKP Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his two-day visit to Turkey.
